The Department of civil engineering has been in existence since the inception of Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad in 1957. The department offers full time Diploma in Civil Engineering. The department is involved in areas of Surveying, Transportation Engg., Hydraulics, Public Health engineering and Estimation and Valuation. The Department is well established with all the resources and well equipped state of art laboratories to facilitate teaching learning process through which students gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Civil Engineering department comprises of highly qualified and experienced faculty members. Our Head of Department Dr. A. K. Patel is a doctorate with more than 31 years of experience. Out of total 24 teaching faculty one have doctrate degree with lot of research work and experience. Almost all teaching staff are post graduate.

  • To develop the ability among student to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary projects so that students shall have relevant engineering design experience and they shall understand the relationship between theory and practice for core subjects.
